The Independent Complaint Reviewers have worked with a very wide range of organisations from the public, voluntary and commercial sectors and offer a unique combination of expertise.
Elizabeth Derrington was appointed ICR for HM Land Registry in March 2008. She is also ICR for the Youth Justice Agency (Northern Ireland) together with Jodi Berg and a member of the Appeals Committee of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accounting.
Ms Derrington qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and as a mediator in 1997. She has served as chair of a Probation Board, a non executive director for an NHS Trust and for Northern Dispute Resolutions (a mediation service provider). She has also been the Independent Complaints Adjudicator for Ofsted from 2002 – 2008, a chair of a regional Electricity Consumers’ Committee and an independent member of the Parole Board.
Jodi Berg OBE is the ICR for The National Archives, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and, together with Elizabeth Derrington, the Youth Justice Agency (Northern Ireland).
She brings to this work her professional expertise as a past solicitor and mediator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, alongside an understanding of practical management gained from wide Board experience. Mrs Berg is the Chair of Administrative Justice Forum, the Government advisory body having oversight of the administrative justice and tribunal system. Mrs Berg has provided complaint review services for organisations including the Child Support Agency, JobCentre Plus and the Audit Commission. She has established new escalated complaints services for public bodies including HM Land Registry, The National Archives and the Charity Commission.
