ICR Office

The ICR Office

The office of the ICR was opened on 16 February 1998 when Mrs Jodi Berg was appointed following an open competition as ICR to Land Registry. In the following years, she was appointed as ICR for The National Archives, the Charity Commission and the Housing Corporation. Most recently, she has been appointed as ICR for Land Registers Northern Ireland and the Audit Commission. Together with Elizabeth Derrington, she is also ICR for the Youth Justice Agency (Northern Ireland).

Jodi Berg is not an employee of any of the public bodies for which she acts as ICR and her terms of reference ensure her independence from them. By appointing an independent complaints reviewer, these organisations have all joined the growing ranks of public bodies that have made the commitment to do all they can to meet the needs of their customers.

The ICR's office is in a central location in London. It is based in Southampton Row near Russell Square and is staffed by officers seconded to assist her in her work. Our staff will be able to help you with any questions you may have about our work in general or about your complaints.

We cannot deal with complaints about other organisations for which Mrs Berg is not the ICR. Information about other independent complaints review and ombudsman services, including details about how you can contact them, can be found by visiting the website for the British and Irish Ombudsman Association at http://www.bioa.org.uk.

Our leaflet, Seeking a Fair Resolution, sets out the role of the ICR in some detail. As well as being able to access and download a copy of the leaflet on this website, you can obtain printed copies from us on request or from the offices of each organisation we deal with. Please take the time to read our leaflet. If you have any queries or concerns not answered by our leaflet, please do not hesitate to contact us:
